The Sunless Citadel Session 6 – Finding Belak The Outcast’s Laboratory

The party continues to search the lower level of the citadel.  After searching several rooms, they find Belak’s Laboratory.  One of the rooms contains a medical experiment with a  giant rat that has plant-like tumors growing from it.  While clearing the lab they end up in a large goblin battle.  During the battle, Dhamon puts the giant rat of of it’s misery. After reviving Gulliver from his broom encounter, Mathias joins him in checking out the maids quarter.  Mathias opens up the door to the nursery and searches it.  Our brave monk sees a baby-sized bundle laying in the crib and walks over to check it out. Meanwhile, Gulliver becomes acutely aware of a specter raising up and heading to the nursery.  After several attempts, the specter finally drops Mathias to the ground.  The rest of the group moves into to deal with the ghost. After defeating the giant rats and finding Karakas’ body, the part takes a long rest before continuing.  The head back to the northwest side of the citadel where they had previously discovered the goblin horde.  The group bypasses the living quarters and discovers the Goblin Chief. Naturally, the chieftain is not pleased at the intrusion and orders the goblins to attack.  During the battle one goblin flees into the goblin’s living quarters with Nidalak chasing him down.  The groups’ fear was justified, Nidalak discovers that the quarters are indeed FULL of goblins. After recovering from getting their asses kicked, the party moves forward with the primary quest of finding the children.  Exploring the goblin side of the citadel, they find an ancient fountain that is pouring a liquid into it’s basin.  Being every careful, Dhamon decides to cast a firebolt on the fountain.  It turns out that this was not a good idea considering the liquid was actually a potion of fire breath. After retrieving and returning the dragon to the Queen Yusdrayl, our brave heroes explore the rest of the kobold side of the citadel.  They discover an area that the kobolds have not explored since they currently have no way of defeating an arcane lock.  Realizing that they keyhole in the door matches the one in the Queen’s throne, they make arrangements to rent the key for the day. After defeating the water heater, the group pushes forward into the Sunless Citadel where they find a very unusual site.  A crying and depressed kobold by the name of Meepo.  Meepo is the keeper of the clan’s dragon.  Sadly for Meepo, goblins stole the dragon.  Meepo tells the group that the clan’s queen Yusdrayl will be able to tell them about the lost adventurers. Queen Yusdrayl makes our party a deal,  get the dragon back from the goblins and she will tell them what she knows.  Meepo will accompany the party and together they head into the goblin  controlled area…

Tomb of Annihilation Session 32 – Shagambi and the Terracotta Warriors

The group explores a secret door that Beldrak found.  While solving the puzzle of the first room, Yaka falls inert and takes some lava damage.  The group figures out the secret and after solving another puzzle, find themselves in Shagambi’s tomb surrounded by lots of Terracotta warriors.  Paavo informs the group that he’s going to start smashing the statues before they can animate.  No sooner has he uttered the words, the warriors come to life and start attacking.
